Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) set up an office in Prague in 1993 to assist clients to identify and achieve their goals in commercial property in the Czech Republic.

In 2006, it helped more than 500 companies or individuals. The office agency team is a market leader with almost 25% of the market in 2006. The team acts on behalf of both local and international occupiers. C&W provides their clients with real value-add consultancy and advice on finding new office space and in the re-negotiation of tenants’ lease conditions in existing offices.

The team is also active in Brno, Pilsen, Ostrava, Hradec Kralove and other main cities throughout the Czech Republic.

C&W also have specialists in Prague focusing on pharmaceutical, banking and legal sectors.

The industrial agency team traded 1.1 million square metres of land for commercial use and successfully completed 47 transactions in 2006. Among the most important clients of C&W’s industrial department in the Czech Republic are manufacturers, developers, retailers and logistics companies.

The retail team is one of the most experienced teams on the Czech market and is advising international brands on entry into the Czech and Slovak Republics. Market research experts worked on 17 projects in 2006 in the Czech Republic and other European countries. The team, in co-operation with the European HQ in London, also provides locational analysis expertise to clients choosing where to locate in Europe.

It now has 82 employees in the Czech Republic making the firm twice as large as any comparable commercial real estate advisor.
